Strawberry Picking

At 12 o'clock Libby picked me up from my flat. Rich was already there, because he finished work at 12. We headed back to Killay to pick up Becci. Despite my many requests I wasn't allowed to put Regina Spektor on.


We waited outside Becci's for many minutes, because her newest dog had vanished in some trees. Here she is.


We went to Rich's for him to get changed. He ate a steak pie and boiled potatos. It appeared that they were covered in gravy, but I was horrified to discover that it was a large amount of bbq sauce. He likes it a lot. Becci and Lib tried bakewell tarts for the first time, neither were impressed.


Becci did some stuff to her eyelashes. Interesting fact #232 People curling their eyelashes with those scissory things makes me feel sick, she isn't doing that here, but still...


I once again proved that I cannot wear sunglasses.


We picked Anthony up from his house.


After a twenty minute drive we arrived at our destination in the Gower, Britain's first place of something or other extraordinairy beauty.


There was a sign pointing towards the beach, but which one? I do not know. It was pointing in the same direction as the strawberry and I prayed to God that we didn't end up on the beach by mistake.


We found a seat made out of stone.


I asked Becci to point at the sign. Fair play, she did it. I don't know if I'd point at a sign if my ex-boyfriend asked me.


We did some walking and were upset to find a car park closer to the strawberries than the one we had chosen.

Were we there? Were these the strawberries? No, these are some sort of berry or currant.


As soon as we found the strawberries I discovered something even greater; a feather. I immediately placed it behind my ear. I felt just like a man of the country, also known as an Ivan.


We learnt that we were supposed to get our baskets from the place where we parked the car, so the girls went back to get some. Rich was already well prepared and started to pick. In the background you will notice a guard tower. Usually it is manned by four people with bows, arrows and hot lead, but luckily for us it was empty, so we could eat as many strawberries as we wanted.


I ate one. Becci cried that I shouldn't eat them before they were washed because mice had been on them, but I took no notice. I'm single now and I'll eat all of the mice strawberries I damn please.


I wanted a big old fashioned wooden basket thing, but they brought plastic ones.


To my alarm I saw a fish flag thing on a pole.


After nearly 45 minutes of searching she finally found a strawberry.


This cheeky rascal decided not to pay.


In the background, if you care to look, you will see a hunchbacked man preparing to charge at us.


We went up to the car park to pay. You had to go into a cafe type place. It was filled with old people in many layers of clothing on such a hot day. I bought a Magnum Classic, but I prefer the term Classic Magnum. Mine came to £2.62 including the ice cream which was pretty impressive.


We stopped off at Joe's Ice Cream in town and came to my flat to eat our strawberries on my roof.


Becci decided to have chips and curry sauce instead. It wasn't in the spirit of Wimbledon, but each to their own.


The view from my roof is quite unexciting, but the hot hot sun made it nice.
